It's official! Marmot Basin's Tres Hombres is now open!
Mid-Morning this December 1st, 2017, Marmot Basin opened Tres Hombres to the public for the first time ever. A crowd of excited locals stood at the rope line ready to take the expression "first tracks" to the next level. For many of these skiers and riders, the Tres Hombres area has long been coveted.
Becoming the first public to carve turns into Marmot's newest, longest, uninterrupted fall-line was celebrated with some cheers as the rope officially dropped, and Tres Hombres opened to the public for the first time ever.
This large, north-facing, treeless slope is a powder-filled bowl of expert terrain for advanced skiers and boarders. With 367 vertical metres and a round trip of approximately 30 minutes, this area is not for the faint of heart, or beginner and intermediate skiers and riders.
