What is Pajama Day?
On Friday, March 1st, we are encouraging everyone to increase their level of coziness by wearing their pajamas on the hill in support of the Find a Common Thread Foundation. As a locally grown initiative that has been raising awareness and funds to assist in developing preventative measure and cures for autoimmune diseases, Marmot Basin is excited to get involved with their signature PJ Day event.
An as annual event that has taken the local town of Jasper by storm, it's not uncommon to see people walking around town in their onesies, pajamas and robes. Over the past years, we've seen groups of people ski in their comfy attire, and we encourage you to show your support and try it out this year!

Supporting the Cause
Autoimmune Disease affects 1 in 5 people, 75% of which are women. People recognize MS, RA, Diabetes, Lupus, but typically don’t realize that other disorders such as Narcolepsy, Eczema, Raynaud’s Syndrome and Aloepecia and Wegener’s Granulomatosis are included in the long list comprised of 140 different diseases. Despite being one of the top 10 reasons for fatality among women under 65 years old, it tends to be misdiagnosed, often resulting in a missed opportunity to reverse the disease process.
An autoimmune disease can attack different parts of the patient’s body, sending them to different specialists. This has created an inherent issue of specialists and researchers trying to combat these various diseases in isolation which is incredibly costly and time consuming. This is where the Find the Common Thread Foundation comes in. Founded by a collective of individuals battling an autoimmune disease, this team of 5 is seeking to continue to raise public awareness of autoimmune disease and raise funds for research that identifies the common thread among forms of autoimmune disease, with the hope to discover preventative measure and cures.
