Daily Mountain Tour

About our Mountain Tours

The Marmot Basin Mountain Tour is designed for skiers and snowboarders who are new to our resort, offering a guided introduction to the slopes and key areas of the mountain.

Each morning, participants will meet at 10:30 a.m. outside the rental shop. Look for a guide wearing a red jacket and a sign that reads "Mountain Tour Meets Here."

Your guide, a Marmot Basin Instructor, will lead you in this complimentary tour beginning with one of the following options :

  •  Canadian Rockies Express Chairlift. From the summit, you'll gain a comprehensive view of the resort, and your guide will highlight areas suited to your skill level, or
  •  Eagle Express Chairlift. From this lower mountain platform, you'll gain a comprehensive view of the resort, and your guide will highlight areas suited to your skill level. The tour continues down Sleepy Hollow, going by the locals favorite Dromedary and Tranquilizer. Following the Old Road you will reach the Paradise Chair.

The tour continues down Marmot Run, passing the Knob area, and offers insights into the history of Charlie's Bowl and its legendary namesake. The route proceeds to mid-mountain, where your guide will point out essential facilities. Next, you'll head towards the Eagle Ridge Chair, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Jasper townsite and the Icefields Parkway. Your guide will also explain how to safely access Eagle East, a section of our expert terrain.

The tour will then proceed along green runs, taking you toward the Bunny Hop and Old Road intersection, where you can see the Paradise Chair load area. From there, you’ll continue on green terrain and head towards the School House area. The School House chairlift operates until 4:30 p.m., providing a convenient option for returning to your vehicle in the parking lot.

Finally, your guide will escort you back to the lower chalet, where the tour concludes, allowing you to continue enjoying your day on the mountain.

We look forward to showing you around Marmot Basin!
