Ability Guide

Level 1 - Discover/Never Before

The Never Before / Discover lesson is designed and intended for first time / never before Skiers or Snowboarders. It covers basic skills such as stopping and changing direction. This lesson will start at the magic carpet area.

Level 2 - Once or Twice*

You have skied or snowboarded before but do not feel confident going straight to a chairlift. You will start on the magic carpet and continue to improve your ability to control speed and direction.

Level 3 - Novice/Green Circle

This level is a progression from Once or Twice. It is designed for Skiers or Snowboarders using green circle terrain who wish to improve their basic technique. Skier or Snowboarders interested in this skill level should be able to stop and change direction to avoid obstacles. This lesson will go directly from the meeting area to the School House chair.

Level 4 - Intermediate/Blue Square

This level is intended for Skier or Snowboarders who are usually comfortable on groomed blue terrain. You would like to feel more confident when conditions become challenging, and when ready progress towards easy black terrain.

Level 5 - Advanced/Black Diamond

This level welcomes Skiers or Snowboarders who attempt black diamond terrain and want to get down the mountain with more efficiency, style, or control. The group will often leave the groomed runs and teach you to ski/ride in moguls, trees, and other ungroomed terrain when the conditions are appropriate.
