Jasper Activities

Jasper national park is full of natural wonders, and is a great destination for all sorts of activities. The town of Jasper is a relaxed and friendly mountain town with many things to do.

Maligne Canyon Ice Walks

Imagine walking through a deep canyon over frozen rapids and waterfalls. Anyone can take part in this unique experience with specially designed cleats that allow you to safely walk on the ice.

Ice Skating

What could be more Canadian than skating on a frozen Rocky Mountain Lake? There are a number of different lakes to choose from, and skate rentals are available in Jasper.

Dog Sled Tours

Another classic Canadian winter experience; Dog Sledding connects you to the past as you wind your way through the mountains in the same way as the original explorers of Jasper National Park.

Snowshoeing

Explore the woods and lakes around Jasper in their natural winter beauty. Snowshoeing is easy, fun and allows you to explore the snowy landscape around Jasper. A number of Jasper outdoor shops rent snowshoeing equipment.

Cross Country Skiing

Quite simply, Jasper National Park is a great place to go cross country skiing, with a large trail network for all abilities and stunning views. Cross-country ski rental and general information is available at the Parks Canada Information Centre and local ski shops.
