Our Professional Snow Sports School offers programs for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. ALL Marmot Snow Pros are certified by the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation and / or the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors. The opportunities to experience our mountain with a qualified Snow Pro are limitless. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned enthusiast Marmots safe and friendly mountain design is the ideal place to experience the excitement and magic of skiing and snowboarding. All of our programs emphasize fun, safety, and education to ensure you will have a positive and memorable experience.

The Discover 1package is designed and intended for first timers to learn the basics of skiing or snowboarding! It covers the basic skills required to get you sliding on your own for the rest of the day. This package includes a 2-hour lesson with an experienced Sno Pro, a full day beginner lift ticket (includes the magic carpet & t-bar) and a full day of rental equipment.

The Discover 2 program is a continuation from the Discover 1 program. The Discover 2 program is designed for skiers and boarders who are not completely comfortable on green runs and wish to improve their basic technique. The skiers & boarders interested in this package must be able to stop completely and make turns to both sides. The next steps are linking turns and skiing/riding from the top of the chairlift. This package includes a 2-hour lesson with an experienced Snow Pro, full day rental equipment and a full day beginner lift ticket (includes the magic carpet & t-bar, upgrades available for those that are ready for more adventure).

Been skiing for a while? A group lesson is for you. After time your skills become unrefined, a 2-hour group lesson can polish those rough edges and get you back to the peak of your abilities enhancing your ALL MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE. Learn from a qualified Snow Pro and get together amongst peers with similar abilities. Group sizes will vary but usually range from 3 to 8 students per class. Lessons are 2 hours in length and begin promptly at the scheduled times listed below.

A first-rate Snow-Pro will provide a full day of self discovery on the best parts of the mountain. Ski schools best seller! These specialized theme based lessons are usually reserved for continued development following one of our Discovery or Group lessons. A lesson with your own Sno Pro is generally just what is required for your next breakthrough and most memorable mountain experience.

New for Marmot Basin for the 2007-2008 season is our Freestyle Centre. This year we will be offering some innovative and exciting freestyle development programs for skiers and boarders.
If you want to get into the park and build your basic freestyle skills enroll in our introductory course: Terrain Park Skills. Topics in this programs cover: terrain park safety & etiquette, introduction to rails, boxes, straight airs, grabs, spins, switch riding & all mountain freestyle. All our coaches on this program hold park instructor certifications. Helmets are mandatory.

If you are already riding in the park and want to increase your ability, join a Progression Session. This year for the first time, Marmot Basin is offering a unique program catered to those who want to master jumps & jibs. Taught by Adam Giles, CASI Instructor and Freestyle Coach this program covers the Freestyle Triangle, switch riding, butters, introduction to jumps, ollies & nollies, shifties, spin progressions, introduction to rails, rail progression and much more during 5 weeks at Marmot Basin. Helmets are mandatory.
Dates & Times: Feb 3, Feb 10, Feb 24, Mar 2 & Mar 9
For riders age 11-16: Sunday at 9:30am - 12:30pm
For riders age 17 and up: Sundays at 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Ratio: 7 students to 1 instructor. NOTE: There will be one group in the morning (youth) and one group in the afternoon (adult). Register Today!
Requirements: Riders must provide their own equipment & lift pass to Marmot Basin.
Riders must be confident turning on toe & heel edge on blue runs.

Marmot Basin Snow Sports School Cancellation Policy: Please notify us 24 in advance of your reserved lesson if you cannot attend. Notification of less than 24 hours results in 50% of the lesson cost charged to your credit card.
The Marmot Basin Snow Sports School reserves the right to cancel Group Lessons if the minimum numbers of participants have not signed up.
